He was a Consultant Pediatric Ophthalmologist and Head of Pediatric Ophthalmology Department for more than 6 years at Ibn AlHaitham Teaching Hospital, Baghdad, Iraq, which was the first Ophthalmology Teaching hospital in the middle east. 

He founded and lead the team for the ROP screening program for the first time in Iraq 2014 & established the Retinoblastoma Treatment Programe for the first time in Iraq. 

Author of textbook chapter and has published papers in Ophthalmology.
